We are trying to help get some supplies together to help Brent Church before he goes on a medical/dental mission trip in March to Panama. Below are items they need:
• Analgesics: Acetaminophen
• Anti-inflammatories – Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin
• Children’s Chewable vitamins
• Dental Floss
• Tooth paste
• Tooth brushes (adult and child)
• Mouthwash
If you have any receipts or can create a receipt for them that would be helpful, because if your medicines are detained at customs, we will need that information in order to do the paperwork to get them out.
When you have purchased your items, contact Pattie Church (PCHURCH@libnat.com) or myself. He needs to have the items by March 5th.
Thank you in advance for your help,
Julie

The latest 411!!!
I hope you are all having a wonderful day despite the nasty rain/drizzle outside. Can you say YUCK????
Well, we are at 39 and counting. That's 39 days from Ladies Weekend - March 5, 2011. Can you believe it? Wow, not me. So much to do, so many people to invite!! Have you made your list of those you want to invite? Have you purchased YOUR ticket??? Don't forget the price goes up after February 1st!! Tickets are on sale in the foyer every Sunday and in the church office. I am so excited about the day God has in-store for us! If you are not familiar with Babbie Mason and her music, go to her website, www.babbie.com, and listen to some. Wow is all I can say.
Some of you may not know who Corrie Adamson is - she is a young lady who lives in the Birmingham area, is a Wardrobe Consultant/Personal Shopper, and appeared on The Bachelor (Season 14 with Jake). She has a wonderful testimony of a life of purity before, during, and after the show; and how being on the show has changed her life.
Lisa "Roxanne" Holifield is no stranger to Birmingham and the airwaves in Central Alabama. For years she could be heard on Magic 96 but more recently (2 weeks now) she is the morning show co-host with Russell P. Wall on WDJC. Their show "Roxanne and Russell" is on from 5am to 10am Monday through Friday. She is a delight to listen to and has a hunger and passion for God that radiates across the airwaves.
I hope you are making plans to come AND to bring friends, family, coworkers, people that you run into at the school, ballpark, nail salon, hairdresser, dentist office, doctor's office, post office, the grocery store, restaurants around town, etc. This day is not going to be about the food, the decorations, the gift, the door prizes - this day is going to be about receiving a word from God and drawing closer to Him through the spoken word from these three ladies, the music sung, the fellowship of others, and the open Word of God.
Okay - other things to make note of - the next FOLD is Monday evening February 7th at P.F. Chang's at The Summit at 6pm. These are wonderful times that we can sit around a table and share, laugh, and love on one another. Let me know if you can join us! If there are enough people that would like to ride the bus from the church we'll have someone drive it to The Summit. If not, we'll all meet there.
Last April we took a group of ladies to Women of Joy in Sevierville, TN. It was a wonderful trip and a few people said they wanted to go again this year. Well, it turns out there is only a handful that I know of that want to go. If you are one of them, please let me know asap!!! It is April 8-10, 2011 in Sevierville. The speakers are Donna Gaines, Liz Curtis Higgs, Becky Tirabassi, and Thelma Wells. The music will be led by Charles Billingsley and a special concert by Casting Crowns on Saturday night.
I think that is it for now. I hope you all have a fabulous day and I'll see you Sunday!

YIKES!!!!
Well, we are trying to get ready...ready for Ladies Weekend 2011 and we need YOUR help! We have hit the ground running in order to prepare for the big day - March 5th. Yes, that's less than two months away!!! Can you say YIKES???
Let me give you an update - we had a bit of a "set-back" this week. Brenda Ladun has had to back out of speaking at Ladies Weekend due to a scheduling conflict with a family thing. So, we are currently discussing some replacement possibilities. Hopefully we can announce that very soon. To help us get the word out and get everything done, we need YOUR help. On Sunday night, January 16th at 7:00pm after the evening service we will have a brief meeting in the Fellowship Hall. This meeting is for anyone and everyone - anyone that might have questions about the event and everyone that would like to help make this event the best Ladies Weekend possible. We will run through the plans of the weekend, answer any questions and then allow you to sign up to help from selling tickets, decorating tables (all alike), to helping with registration. Spread the word about the meeting and plan to attend. If you aren't able to attend, PLEASE contact me with any questions or to volunteer to help.
F.O.L.D. - we have decided to abbreviate our F.O.L.D. schedule due to lack of attendance. We were scheduled to have lunch this next Monday at Mellow Mushroom but we won't be getting together. What we have decided to do is to have a lunch and a dinner once a quarter. We feel like this will make it feel "more special." So, the next F.O.L.D. dinner we will have is February 7th at P.F. Chang's and March 7th we will have lunch at Taziki's in Mountain Brook Office Park area. So, mark your calendars and plan to meet us for dinner on Feb. 7th and lunch on March 7th.
To let you know what we are working on for future plans...we are tossing around the idea of having a "Home Ec. 101 Day." Still rough, but we were thinking of having someone come to talk to us about "coupon-ing" and then having small how-to classes on baking, cooking, planning menus, basic sewing skills, etc. Look for this in August (maybe).
We are looking for mission projects for us to do as a Women's Minisrty - if you have any ideas, please let me know. Ideas tossed around were Sav-a-Life, Children's Hospital, Grace House, Jessie's Place.
Okay, that's all for now.
See you Sunday - and remember...spread the word about the meeting next Sunday night January 16th after the evening service in the Fellowship Hall.
Love ya!!!
